Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I teach reading and writing classes for all ages. For older students, I teach classes revolving around leadership, business, and life skills. I have taught 9th grade English and Literature and have also worked as a Kindergarten homeroom teacher! I believe reading and writing are essential to every child's future success and incorporate those skills in all of my classes. I have many passions that I enjoy to bring to the classroom - business, cooking, and IMPROV!

I have a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and I'm currently working on my Masters in Psychology Counseling. I have most recently worked as a Director of Operations in the healthcare world. I have started my own business and have helped others do that as well.

I believe teaching must be fun or it simply will not stick with a student. I keep my classes light and hope that by cracking a joke or two, students will remember the material. Furthermore, students must understand the value of what they are learning. Why is this material important for them to know in their future? When will they use it in their future? I always stress the importance of a subject during my classes for students to understand it's value in their lives and future. Finally, I treat all my students with love and respect. I am understanding, loving, and fair. I create an atmosphere that is welcoming to all students and aim to be a person they look up to and feel comfortable with.

When I'm not teaching, I am usually begging my cats for attention or cooking something way too unhealthy for me to eat!
