Phonics is the best way for children to progress in reading. When a child has the ability to sound out a word using phonics, fluency will also begin to improve lending to greater comprehension. All of these work together to make great readers.
As a second grade teacher for 30 years, I have seen children rapidly progress in reading just by learning phonics. This class will focus on using phonics to help learners achieve greater reading ability and fluency. 
Join us any week for phonics and reading practice and watch your child's reading confidence improve!
Week one (January - week of 8/23 words with short vowels
Week two- week of 8/30 stories using short and long vowels
Week three- week of 9/6 stories using short and long vowels as well as blends
Week four- week of 9/13 stories using short and long vowels as well as blends
The weeks following will continue to teach short and long vowel words and blends in stories

TYPICAL CLASS ROUTINE:

Greeting/Get to know you time
Class time, including teaching of given topic and practice of that skill
Closing which may include a puppet, a game, or show and tell, depending on the type of class your learner is taking. My goal is to have every child smiling and excited to return to the next class!
