Class Experience

US Grade 2
Are you getting ready for second grade? Or maybe you want to make sure you have mastered some of the second grade standards?

Math can be difficult and frustrating for many students. Often times, skills build upon each other creating learning gaps and making more advance concepts feel impossible. Other students may find math to be easy breezy!
Either way, you've found the right class! This class is perfect for students entering 2nd grade or who have just finished!

Day 1: Number Sense
We will learn about different ways to represent numbers (using base ten blocks, expanded form, written form, on a number line etc.)

Day 2: Operations
We will use addition and subtraction to go in depth on fact families, word problems, and repeated addition. This will also be the day we review different strategies for basic addition and subtraction equations.

Day 3: Measurement, Money, and Geometry
We will understand both formal and informal ways to measure objects, as well as shapes and their attributes! Additionally, we learn all about money going over the basics.

Day 4: Fractions, Clocks, and Graphs
This is a miscellaneous day that will discuss how to read an analog clock, graphs (plot & bar), and fractions!

Day 5: Math Bingo Day
Practice our skills with a review style game!

Each class will begin with a "get to know you question", a short brain break, and an opportunity for students to ask questions at any point!
