If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure that they have the best possible class experience.*** The learner will bring craft sticks and nickels to their workspace. This class is taught in English.
Many sight words do not follow basic phonics principles so they are not easy to decode or sound out. It is my goal to help your young learner increase their sight word bank so they will have increased reading fluency and comprehension.
The teacher was a Kindergarten-4th grade teacher for over thirty years in public elementary schools. Both of her boys knew how to read before they entered kindergarten partially because she found opportunities to teach using everyday objects like “sticks and nickels”.
1 file available upon enrollment-Approximately 20 craft sticks (Q-Tips or crayons work also) -Approximately 30 nickels (any coin or button will work)
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
