Want your child to feel confident about math? In this course, we will focus on new review topics each class. The year will begin with first-grade material, then will switch to second-grade material. Each class, I will review the contents, then students will do practice with me. After I see that students are comfortable, I will ask students to do the material independently. I do this process multiple times throughout the class. By doing this process, I make sure students have a basic...
Students will learn subtraction, addition, data interpretation, two-dimensional shapes, three-dimensional shapes, measurement, money, even and odd numbers, time, fractions, patterns, place value, and skip counting.
I have taught over 5,000 classes online. I am a certified special education and general education teacher in two states. I have experience teaching second-grade math.
I will sometimes give optional homework to students. This is usually in areas that students may need some additional practice. I always supply work, so that students check their answers. I may also give suggestions to parents of things they can do at home to further support student learning. These are optional as well. For example, I may also students to measure items around their house.
-Ruler -Paper or whiteboard I will let you know at least a week in advance before students need a ruler.
Throughout the lesson, I ask students to annotate, hold up their work and submit in the chatbox.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
