Over the course of a few days we will review second grade math concepts to make sure students have a firm foundation and understanding before heading into third grade. We will review place value to start, this will give me an idea of their number sense, as well as jump up into two and three-digit addition. Students will learn how to properly line up their numbers to calculate correctly, as well as how to carry/regroup numbers. Other concepts that will be covered are subtraction. We will talk about borrowing and use visuals to explain why. Students will also have exposure to these concepts in word problems.
