As a reading intervention teacher for grades K5-8, I specialize in making literacy fun and engaging for ALL readers! Thoughtful small-group discussions, hands-on experiences, and reflective activities all work together to make stories come alive for my learners. English Language Arts doesn't have to be dry and boring - I love to watch students light up as they fall in love with literacy!
Students will be expected to complete extension activities on their own throughout the week, totaling approximately 1-2 hours/week outside of class. Handouts, extension activities, and resources will be provided weekly for printing or online review.
Extension activities, printable pages, and other supplements will be provided weekly in the classroom.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal pre-assessments and formative assessments will uncover areas of strength and areas of potential growth throughout the month, and will guide instruction to meet each student's individual needs. Written summary of assessments can be provided upon request for parents wishing a semester grade report.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
