Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
In this ongoing class, second and third-graders will learn a well-rounded grammar curriculum, including compound words, possessives, conjunctions, gerunds, pronouns, verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, dialogue, abbreviations, and more!

This class includes:
✏️ a homework sheet to reinforce the lesson's topic
✏️ a fun learning environment to encourage engagement
✏️ several opportunities for students to practice what they are learning

Each class will begin with a short warm-up to get students engaged with the teacher and the lesson material. Each lesson will be focused on one aspect of grammar and reading so students can master the topic by the end of class. The grammar curriculum will be taught through group reading activities, search and find activities, writing exercises, songs, games, and LOTS of laughter and fun!

Tuesday, March 25th: (lesson 3) homophones: ate, eight, cell, sell, fairy, ferry
Saturday, March 29th: (lesson 14) singular possessive nouns

Tuesday, April 1st: (lesson 4) plural "s, es, ies" endings
Saturday, April 5th: (lesson 15) homophones: wrap, rap, meet, meat, week, weak

Tuesday, April 8th: (lesson 5) four sentence types
Saturday, April 12th: (lesson 16) common misunderstandings

Tuesday, April 15th: (lesson 6) homophones: blew, blue, war, wore, peace, piece
Saturday, April 19th: (lesson 17) 3 types of compound words

Tuesday, April 22nd: (lesson 7) temporal words
Saturday, April 26th: (lesson 18) homophones: prince, prints, night, knight, plane, plain

Ongoing classes are designed so that students may come and go without needing to attend prior classes - the classes do not build on one another. Students can drop in whenever they like!
