Description
Class Experience
Class will be centered around stories and storytelling. Using that as the starting point, learners will compare and contrast the first five Chinese dynasties.
Ms. Annette has been teaching from a Waldorf-inspired perspective for over 25 years and enjoys the challenge of applying Steiner's philosophies and ideas to online learning. This particular class was taught to her own six children as well as in many homeschool coops! She is certified by the state of Pennsylvania to teach preK through HS and also has done graduate work in elementary education. She also has written her own curriculum, Seasons of Joy, which has been used by hundreds of families.
Learners will be encouraged to finish their main lesson book pages and other projects during the week. All copywork and drawings will be shared in the online classroom, and students are encouraged to use this space as a place to share work, discoveries, questions, and ideas.
For every class, learners will need the following: A main lesson book, sketchbook, blank paper in a binder-- whatever is most comfortable for your learner Colored pencils Crayons (block and/or stick) A playsilk, scarf, or other lightweight material for responding to music Clay Additional materials will be listed for classes as needed. For class one, your child will need to print and cut out the tangrams which will be provided upon enrollment
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
