In this engaging and interactive one-time course, learners will sing, share, and learn about their favorite sea animals! Preschool learners will practice basic social skills and language skills while having fun!

This inclusive class is specifically designed for young learners. As a speech-language pathologist, I embed language-learning and early social skills within play, movement, music, and books. In this class, we will learn all about SEA ANIMALS! We will sing a song about sea animals, talk about our favorite sea animals, learn the letter “S”, and each learner will have the opportunity to show-n-tell their favorite sea animal toy! This class embeds early language and social skills throughout the entire class. Here are a few skills we will be working on: Language: sea animal vocabulary, pre-literacy skills, formulating and responding to questions, expressive language skills (describing their animal) Social Skills: taking turns, asking questions, introducing themselves, watching their peers do their show-n-tell, Our class routine will look like this: *Hello - Each student will be personally greeted. They will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their age if they feel comfortable doing so. I understand that not all young learners feel comfortable introducing themselves yet -- this is okay too! *Song - We will sing a song about sea animals. During the song, all learners will be encouraged to sing and dance/move along. *I will show them a few different types of sea animals and we will talk about their actions. Learners will have the opportunity to imitate each action *Show-N-Tell - Each learner will get to share their own sea animal! They will get to practice describing their item. *Letter S - We will learn the letter S and the corresponding sound. If there is time during class, we will brainstorm other words that begin with letter S. **Movement will be used throughout the Circle Time (we will switch from sitting to standing off-and-on), so please allow for some space around your child. :) This would be an excellent first online-class for young learners. It is also a fun class for any learner who loves dinosaurs! I am excited to meet your child in class! ~Ms. Liz

Hello! My name is Liz Balettie! I am a certified Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) with 10 years of experience. I earned my Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology in 2014. I have worked in a variety of settings, teaching speech and language skills in: public and private schools, private practice, tele-health (during the pandemic), and hospitals. I am a huge fan of play-based learning! Play and language skills are absolutely related! All of my classes include music/singing, play, and movement to ensure learners are having FUN while they are learning! My classes will ALWAYS be inclusive. I adapt the lesson based on the students in each specific class. I will meet each child at their level!
I offer a variety of classes for young learners. Each class will contain elements of early language skills, pre-literacy skills, and social skills geared towards young learners.
I have a husband, dog, toddler daughter, and 7 year old son. I enjoy baking, yoga, and running.
