Students will self-assess their work verbally with the teacher. We will focus on constructive criticism, how to self-assess, and being resilient in art-making.Class Experience
Students will learn in a small group via zoom video chat with Cara. Instruction will be given step-by-step and students will be assisted along the way. No prior knowledge is required for this course. Students will learn to create a frog using polymer clay. Student Materials Needed: *Polymer Clay - white or various colors. (white polymer clay can be painted with acrylic paint) *Optional: Clay Tool Set *Household Items Instead of Tool Set: popsicle stick, toothpick, straw, paper clip ***Students will need to bake their polymer clay after class. Follow the specific instructions on your clay's packaging. ______________________ **Class Policies: *All class times are approximate. Class length may vary due to student ability and class size. Classes are designed to be no longer than the time allotted. *Late/Missed Class Policy - All courses will begin on time as long as one learner is in the classroom. Class recordings are available upon request. ***Tardy Policy - Learners who have missed ten minutes or more of the class time should request a transfer. Instruction is given step-by-step, so tardiness detracts from everyone's learning experience. Hello, my name is Cara!
I have been teaching art since 2003 in school and studio environments. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My concentrations are in education and painting. I have experience teaching students as young as 3 up to adults. The majority of my in-school teaching experience was in grades 6-12. At my studio, I teach students weekly and also have classes for homeschool students, open studio, birthdays, graduations, and team-building. I love that online platforms allow teachers and students to connect across the world! What an amazing opportunity!
I love to create bright-colored abstract paintings, usually in acrylic or watercolor. I live with my husband and three dogs a short drive from my art studio! I look forward to meeting you!
