Hello, and welcome to my screenwriting workshop. This ongoing class is a great opportunity for learners to not just learn about film writing, but also outline and write their own screenplays. Each week will discuss a different genre of screenwriting: Comedy - Week of March 1-5 Action - Week of March 8-12 Horror - Week of March 15-19 Drama - Week of March 22-26 As a workshop, writers will be expected to interact both when asked questions about their story/progress and when they have questions of their own. My teaching style is learning by doing, and there is no better way to do that in regards to storytelling than in working with fellow peers and one industry professional (me!) in an "open floor" space."
Learning Goals
By the time students choose to leave this ongoing class, my hope as an instructor is that they will have a completed outline or first draft of their screenplay.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Master of Fine Arts in screenwriting from Chapman University, one of the top ten film schools in the world (as ranked by The Hollywood Reporter), making me an ideal instructor for a screenwriting workshop class. I have also worked on professional film sets, pitched screenplays to major agents and studios, and worked on-site at Sony Pictures in Los Angeles. Not only do I know how to write a screenplay, but I also know what the industry is looking for when buying screenplays to produce.
