Description
Class Experience
The goal of this class is to teach students how to create, develop, and write a story for the screen. We will write “short movies” that will be around 20-30 minutes of screen time. Each class will contain a lesson that will have students creating a part of their screenplay each week. The final class will contain a table read of the beat sheet and the first 5 minutes of their movie. Class One: Getting Started! Writers will learn about movie genres, taglines, log lines, and the needed...
This class is taught in English.
Writers will learn how to create a beat sheet, outline, and develop a 30-minute movie in the proper screenplay format.
Each week will have a writing assignment that relates to that day's lesson. Completing each assignment is essential to completing the screenplay.
Handouts, ppts, and examples will be provided after each class.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will see classes via a screen share of pdf or ppt files.
