Beginner - Advanced Level
In this 1-on-1 screenwriting course, students will develop their first short film script with personalized guidance from an award-winning filmmaker. Over 4 weeks, we’ll cover the essential elements of storytelling and screenwriting, focusing on character development, structure, dialogue, and revision. By the end of the course, students will have written a complete short script. Week 1: Concept and Story Development We’ll brainstorm ideas, develop a compelling story, and discuss the key elements of screenwriting, including structure and pacing. By the end of the session, students will have outlined their short film script. Week 2: Character Development Students will create characters with depth and motivation, learning how to develop strong protagonists and supporting roles that drive the story forward. Week 3: Dialogue and Action This session will focus on writing natural dialogue and conveying action through the script. We’ll work on making conversations feel real while advancing the plot. Week 4: Revising the Script In the final session, we’ll refine the script, focusing on revisions, pacing, and polishing the story to ensure it’s ready for production. Students will leave the course with a complete short film script, and the skills to write future projects with confidence.
