In this 4-week newbie course, students will dip their toes into Scratch programming. They will become familiar with Scratch coding to create animations and interactive stories all while activating their logical and creative thinking skills.
Class experience
In this 4-week course, students will be introduced to the common code blocks in Scratch. They will learn a variety of computational concepts that will help them develop as logical and creative thinkers. They will learn about movement, sprites, communication, and storytelling to create interactive stories and animations.

Students will be given a link at the beginning of the first class and we will walk through setting up their free Scratch account. As we walk through the setup, if the student is not familiar with how to navigate around a browser such as Chrome or Internet Explorer, it is suggested that a parent be present to assist if needed.
