Class Experience

This course is a PBL (project based learning) on Scratch junior which is an advance course. This course will give insights of scratch junior and give confident to the students to become expert in scratch programming. This course is designed such that student gets the knowledge of coding along with academic topics and generates their interest in education. There is a new project every week to help students practice what they already know about Scratch in a project based challenge.

Week 1 : Math Game Project 
Making a number game of 1 to 20 using scratch junior
Adding a voice over in the game.
Project Challenge - Add numbers from 20 to 30

Week  2: My Family Story Project
Students will draw family members on paper and then select the characters and backgrounds to show a family story and add description about them using text.

Week 3: Maze Game Project
Students will draw a maze using a pen and a paper. and then replicate it on the maze game using sprites as well 

Week 4: Earth, Moon and Rocket animation.
Students will create moon, earth and rocket animation and will learn to program the rocket to blast when  it collides with earth or moon.

Week 5: Transportation – How do I get to school story?
Students will create an animation using the means of transportation by using different sprites, backgrounds and scripts.

Week 6: Journey of Homes animation
Students will create an animation of different homes using different sprites, backgrounds , scripts and voice.

Week 7 : Make your Clock 
Students will design a clock , with aspects of numbers and needles and code it to make it work as an analog clock.

Week 8 : Sun and seasons story 
Students will understand and implement how sun helps in change of seasons and depict it in a story. They will code the sprites and use narration for the story. 

Student should have prior knowledge of basics of scratch jr. to be able to do these projects. Ideally a device for lesson and another one for project works best, however the teacher will teach on how to share the screen as well.

Scratch Junior app installed in the device.
ScratchJr. runs on both iPads and Android tablets. It will run on any iPad 2 or later, including all iPad minis, with iOS 7.0 or later installed. Note that newer versions of ScratchJr. will only run on iOS 8+. It also runs on any Android tablet, 7-inches or larger, that are running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean MR1) or higher. It does not need web-access to run.
We recommend iPads running iOS 9 or greater and Android tablets running Android 5 (Kit Kat) or higher.
