This class acts as an introduction to Scratch coding. This course will be perfect for those learners that have not coded before, in grades 3rd to 5th. After the introduction, we will create a simple project in Scratch.

Welcome to "Scratch Explorers: Create, Play, and Learn"! This self-paced, pre-recorded course is designed to introduce 3rd to 5th graders to the exciting world of coding using Scratch. This of fun and engaging video lesson the students will learn the basics of Scratch, create their own interactive project, and explore the endless possibilities of coding. Each accompanying video takes about 20 minutes to view. You may pause and restart as many times as necessary. The projects may take an additional 20 minutes to complete. You will be assigned a simple project of creating your own game or modifying your current project at the end of the course. This could take a minimum of 20 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour. I will communicate daily and will respond to inquiries within 48 hours. Time to have some fun with Scratch!

Currently, I am a technical product manager. I have been data analyst for 15 years. I have taught coding to students for the past 10 years as well. I will be teaching coding classes including Scratch, Python, etc. using Platforms such as Scratch, Tynker and Coding.org. Computer technology is changing the world and the earlier students start engaging with coding, the faster they will able to understand how they can use STEM to make positive changes in the world.
Also, I am an author. I use STEAM related themes to teach students the importance of STEAM.
