Homework
Students will be allowed to continue to improve their projects in between meetings. Before every class, students can present their projects and the improvements they made in the process.

Class Experience

Each session is full of projects based on Passion, Collaboration with Peers, and a Playful Spirit. It is full of hands-on Memorable, Meaningful, and Motivating activities, specially designed for girls and boys 5 to 6 years old.

This class is a discovery class where the only requirement is a passion for learning and creating.

In this live, online  course, each student will:
- Participate in a class with other children his/her age group (5 - 6) learning the basics of coding
- Enjoy hours of personalized project-based instruction and interest-based projects
- Learn to code, design, and create images on a coding platform
- Collaborate with small groups (6 campers maximum per session) with one adult certified live instructor
 
Syllabus/Topics covered:
Day 1 (Introduction)
- Cyber Security
- Introduction to the Coding Platform 
- Introduction to Scratch Jr. elements/coding blocks

Day2 (Basic Move Commands )
- Think Creatively 
- Scratch Jr. Controls 

Day3 (Compounding Commands )
-Think Creatively
- Use Multiple Move Commands

Day 4 (Combining Commands)
- Add and Command Multiple Sprites 
- Add and Combine Multiple Backgrounds
- Create Your Own Story

The 45 minutes classes are incredibly interactive:
10-minute lecture using videos and slides.
25-minute self-paced creation.
10-minute discussion of achievements.

Learning Goals

Coders play an essential role in our everyday lives, from designing reliable apps and games for all ages. 

Coders play a crucial role in advancing our technology to help me make our world a more connected and safer place. 

Students will learn the basics of coding in our Coding class and understand its steps to create a successful design. 

In this course, students will put on their coding caps and test their abilities by creating different projects related to the commands learned throughout the class. Students will learn that being a coder starts with understanding the vocabulary and navigating and troubleshooting errors that may arise. 

With the instructor's guide, students will learn that they can be a part of the coding process if they are willing to try.
