Description

Class Experience

Mr. James is the head of the Music Technology department at the Eastman Community Music School. He also teaches for the Manhattan School of Music outreach program, teaching Scratch, teaching Python, teaching HTML, teaching CSS, and teaching JavaScript. He has been teaching computer programming for over 5 years to students ages 7-17.

Mr. Rafael is a coding instructor and chess instructor. He has been teaching Scratch, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.HTML, CodeMonkey, and Code.org for over 5 years. He teaches students ages 7-17.
Class must be taken using a computer or laptop. If students have access to two devices they may wish to use a tablet or smart phone to be in our Outschool Zoom room and their compuer or laptop for coding in Scratch.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents will need to create an for their child prior to the start of class. A free account can be created a https://scratch.mit.edu/ 
Students who do not have an account at the start of class will be unable to create a game and will be limited in what they can do in class. Coding must be done on a laptop or computer.
