This course is perfect for young learners eager to explore programming through fun, hands-on projects. Class Experience In this interactive class, students will learn by doing. Each session includes a mix of: Live coding demos – Watch step-by-step coding in action Hands-on projects – Code your own games, animations, and more Fun challenges – Solve engaging puzzles to reinforce coding concepts Collaborative learning – Share and discuss ideas with fellow learners Guided exploration – Experiment with Scratch's powerful features This course is designed for absolute beginners, and no prior coding experience is needed. What will be taught? How to navigate and use the Scratch interface Core coding concepts: loops, events, conditionals, and variables How to animate characters and create interactive stories How to build games like Mario Dash and Pac-Man How to use the coordinate system for movement and design Creating smooth transitions and motion effects Exploring the 7 Wonders of the World through a fun animation project How is your class structured? This course consists of eight engaging lessons over four weeks, with a progressive learning approach: Week 1: Lesson 1: Introduction to Scratch – Get familiar with the interface and basic coding blocks Lesson 2: Direction Sense – Learn movement, x-y coordinates, and sprite control Week 2: Lesson 3: Dress-Up Game – Create a fun interactive fashion game Lesson 4: Solar System – Animate planets orbiting the sun Week 3: Lesson 5: Journey Through the 7 Wonders – Build an exciting animated tour Lesson 6: Mario Dash – Use sensing operators to code a platformer game Week 4: Lesson 7: Pac-Man Part 1 – Create a maze and program Pac-Man's movement Lesson 8: Pac-Man Part 2 – Add ghosts, points, and game logic How will you teach? We use an engaging, hands-on approach with: Live demos and interactive coding Fun mini-challenges to reinforce concepts Step-by-step project-building Q&A sessions and discussions Our Teaching Style We believe in learning by doing. Our teaching style is fun, energetic, and interactive. We encourage students to experiment, ask questions, and create freely.
