This class is designed for beginners. It is a perfect follow up class for my "Learn the Basics of Scratch Coding to Make a Simple Game," however students who have no experience are welcome! This class along with other beginner Scratch classes are also included in my 5-Day Scratch Coding Camp (offered in Summer) if you are interested in bundling my beginner classes together! Each game teaches different coding strategies to create different styles of games on Scratch. This class focuses on learning how to use variables and cloning to create a simple game (watch the video to see a sample of the game!). I will be demonstrating the code as the students follow along. It is recommended that the students have a separate device to work from their zoom device if at all possible. It is also recommended that the student use Scratch on a computer (not a tablet). The tablet version is not as functional and students will not be able to test their code on the tablet.

Supply List
Please have your child's Scratch account (free on scratch.mit.edu) created and logged in before class. As stated in the class description it is recommended that the student have a computer to work on and, if possible, have dual screens or separate devices so that they can watch my demo while they work.

I taught ESL online for 3 years, but I'm now back into the classroom teaching 4th grade again!
When it comes to kids' learning, the sky is truly the limit. Too often I think kids are underestimated in just what they can accomplish. Giving children the opportunity to explore their talents and interests is such an important thing! As an educator, I have felt that exploring a child's strengths is the best way to help them succeed in life.
