MIT's block based coding platform Scratch helps young learners develop a deep understanding of the logics and critical thinking for coding. In this class students will explore the platform in a gradual manner , with game creation on each day and slowly gaining confidence. As they proceed through the projects they will learn to use various aspects of animation and game designing as well as extensions using their favourite Pokemon characters. Parents please ensure that students have an account created on scratch before they start with this class in order to help them save their project. Day 1 : Catch the Pokemon Students will learn to use a variable to create a simple catching game using their favourite Pokemon characters. Day 2: Pokemon Shooter Students will learn to use "mouse pointer" block and create multiple broadcast message for the proper working of the game. Day 3: Pikachu Run Students will learn about animation, x and y axis. Day 4 and 5 : Pokemon Smash Students will will learn about conditions and multiple events. The teacher will guide the students on how to switch tabs or screens to work on one system, but if the students wish they can have 2 devices, one for the class login (mobile) and the other for the programming (laptop).
