US Grade 6 - 9
In this 1-time course, learners will explore and develop hands-on skills for microscopy. This includes sample preparation, slide handling, and image analysis. Through this experience, participants will learn the captivating world of cells, microorganisms, and cell structures. I hope this experience will ignite their scientific curiosity through the lens of a microscope. Learners will be taught essential parts and functions of a microscope as well as techniques for effective sample preparation, including slide preparation. They will learn how to handle slides with precision and care to ensure optimal viewing conditions. Additionally, the course will cover image analysis techniques, including capturing clear images, adjusting microscope settings, and analyzing the obtained data. The class is structured as a combination of interactive lessons, practical demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Learners will do best to have a microscope to practice on in class, however, one is not required. Learners will receive step-by-step guidance on sample preparation techniques, slide handling procedures, and image analysis methods. They will also have the opportunity to practice these skills through hands-on activities, allowing them to apply what they have learned in a real-world context. My teaching style is engaging, interactive, and learner-centered. The course aims to foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment where participants can actively engage with the material. Learners are encouraged to ask questions, participate in discussions, and share their insights and experiences.

Master's Degree in Science from University of Alabama
Bachelor's Degree in Science from University of South Carolina
I am a middle school and high school math and science teacher with 10 years of experience. Additionally, I am a homeschooling dad of 13+years who has four kids that are four different types of learners.
I have the privilege to teach many subject areas, but biology & chemistry are my favorite as they applies to all other areas of science. My opinion is that if a student understands the these major concepts, other sciences become more clear.
I hold a MS and BS in the natural sciences.
