Description
Class Experience
The student will leave this class with an understanding of basic rocket science, what it takes for humans to go into space, and the challenges of space exploration. They will get to know the 9 planets in our solar system including how they were formed and which ones could sustain life one day. Finally they will find out about neighboring solar systems, places where stars are born, and what we may find when we finally venture outside of our local solar system into deep space.
This is camp! There's no homework at camp! But I will ask kids to share the videos they enjoy with the class each week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
On the final day, we will watch a series of videos that review what we've learned and then do an online "gameshow" to review terms and concepts.
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
