Scientific Notation was developed in order to easily represent numbers that are either very large or very small. Students will learn how to write numbers in scientific notation and be able to convert numbers from standard from into scientific notation and from standard form into scientific notation. Students will learn how to write large and small numbers in scientific notation. They will also learn how to convert numbers from scientific notation into standard form and from standard from into scientific notation. We will also perform a few operations on numbers in scientific notation in the second part of this class.
Worksheets will be provided for extra practice after each class.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
