Class Experience

In this ongoing class, learners will read and discuss articles from the current issue of the Scientific American. While learning about the newest advances in science, students will practice critical thinking and discussion with peers.  

Learners will practice:

- Reading critically 
- Analyzing information
- Critical thinking 

The instructor will guide the group discussion, presenting discussion questions, additional background information and encouraging respectful participation. This is a highly interactive class. 

Each week, the group will select from two articles that they would like to cover. All articles will be prescreened by the instructor to assure age-appropriate content. 


Lessons do not build on each other. Learners may join at any time.

Learners will need their own subscription to Scientific American. Both print and digital versions are available.
