Learning about the weather is a great way to get kids interested in nature and science because weather affects our lives every day. In this one time class, your child will learn about the formation of tropical cyclones, when and where they occur, the Saffir-Simpson scale, and other tropical cyclone topics. I encourage the kids to ask questions and share any knowledge they may have about the class topic because that is a good way to learn about something new. I use visual graphics such as photos and videos in class so that the kids are able to see the concepts we are discussing. During class the kids will use a printed copy of a world map to mark where tropical cyclones develop and occur. We will also complete the hurricane worksheets in class. The world map and hurricane worksheets will be posted in the classroom as a PDF so that they can be printed. As far as supplies, the kids will need : a copy of the world map a copy of the hurricane worksheets colored pencils, crayons, and/or markers ****SIBLINGS AND FRIENDS**** All learners must be enrolled in the class in order to be fair to the other enrolled learners.
