In this one time STEM class, your child will learn about the physics concepts of tension, compression, load, the geometric shapes used in geodesic domes all while building one using gumdrops or other semi-firm candies and toothpicks.

In this one time STEM class, your child will learn about the physics concepts of tension, compression, load, and the geometric shapes used in geodesic domes all while building one using semi-firm chewy candies (like gumdrops) and toothpicks. This class is taught in English.
I have taught basic geometry concepts to elementary age kids as a public school teacher. I have also taught high school geometry , high school physics, chemistry, and biology with my local homeschool co-op as well as leading 4-H STEM project groups.
Bag of gumdrops, gummy bears, or a or box of DOTS candy. Any semi-firm chewy candy will work. Toothpicks
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
