In this one time class, kids will learn about the chemical elements that make up birthstone minerals. The kids and I will be able to interact as we discuss the field of geochemistry and the origins of birthstones. I will share my screen so that the kids can see photos of the birthstone minerals and their chemical formulas, what minerals are, what are crystal structures. The kids and I will draw molecule models of birthstone minerals, and they will follow my instructions as we make a solution that will grow our imitation birthstones. They will be able to interact with the other students and me during our class time by asking questions and sharing any knowledge they have of our class topics. ******The supply list can be found in the learner supply list and as a pdf in the classroom.*****
