Exploring Earth's Moon is all about our closest neighbor the Moon. Each meeting your child will complete different activities to learn about our moon such as making impact craters, discussing different folklore about the moon, and other activities. While this is listed as a science class, it is a unit study of Earth's Moon, so the kids will complete activities from other subjects such as art and English. A PDF of the class supplies will be in the classroom so that it can be printed. ****All learners must be enrolled in the class to be fair to the other enrolled learners****
Learning Goals
From the Next Generation Science Standards students will:
Construct, use, and present arguments to support the claim that when the kinetic energy of an object changes, energy is transferred to or from the object.
Ask questions and predict outcomes about the changes in energy that occur when objects collide.
Use evidence to construct an explanation relating the speed of an object to the energy of that object.
ESS1.B: Earth and the Solar System
Art:
Develop, present, and test ideas, plans, models, and proposals
for media arts productions, considering the artistic goals and audience.
Create content and combine components and sets of
associated principles to convey expression, purpose, and meaning.
