Science Trivia Show is an interactive, game show all about science! When learners attend a Science Trivia Show, they become the players and compete against each other by doing a series of 10 tasks. A variety of different science topics can be covered in each class. Each class will be a mixed bag of earth science (atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, geosphere), zoology (animals), botany (plants), astronomy (space), chemistry, human anatomy, and geography. Learners will improve their understanding and knowledge of any of the following branches of science: -earth science (atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, geosphere) -zoology (animals) -botany (plants) -astronomy (space) -chemistry -human anatomy/physiology -geography
Homework will not be assigned for this class.
A second device is recommended but not necessary if learner knows how to "split-screen".
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Nearpod is an interactive classroom tool. Nearpod is an Outschool-approved third-party tool. How To Use Nearpod for Class: A join code will be shown/sent to learners at the beginning of class. Learners will use the provided URL (join.nearpod.com) to open Nearpod on a second device, such as a tablet, second computer, or phone. Learners will need to enter the code when prompted. Additionally, learners can open a second window and "split-screen" to view both Zoom and Nearpod simultaneously. Whichever method that is most accessible to the learner is preferred. Some parental assistance may be required to prepare learners to use Nearpod for class.
