Science-Time Teacher Jolene: Let’s Learn About Snakes!
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 4
In this one-time class, learners will join Teacher Jolene for a read-aloud of Snakes by Fiona Lock. Teacher Jolene will help lead through this non-fiction book about snakes with discussion, a circle map (schema) and tree map (can; have; are), a direct draw, and simple writing about snakes. Learners will be asked to share their direct drawing and writing with Teacher Jolene. Class will conclude by singing a snake song and/or chant and enjoying a favorite snack (provided by learner’s family).
Learners will help create a circle & tree map about snakes; construct a direct draw of a snake; complete a simple writing about snakes; participate in discussions; and enjoy a favorite snack while singing a few snake songs!
Teacher Jolene is a certified teacher (26 years) and currently teaches 1st and 2nd grade in Washington State’s Public Schools.
