Class Experience
In this one-time class, learners will join Teacher Jolene for a read-aloud of Bears by Elizabeth Carney. Teacher Jolene will help lead through this non-fiction book about bears with discussion, a circle (schema) and tree map (can; have; are), a direct draw, and simple writing. Learners will be asked to share their direct drawing and writing with Teacher Jolene and class. The class will conclude by singing a bear song and/or chant and enjoying a favorite snack (provided by learner’s family).
Learners will help create a circle & tree map about bears; construct a direct draw of a bear; complete a simple writing about bears; participate in discussions; and enjoy a favorite snack while singing a few bear songs!
Teacher Jolene is a certified teacher (24 years) and currently teaches 2nd grade in Washington State’s Public Schools.
