Welcome to the solar system in English! This class is taught in English (the lesson and materials are in English). Each class we will study a different topic where we will discuss different aspects related to the solar system. There will be printable material to make a mini book, cutting and pasting for sorting, and labeling to identify the names and order of the planets. I will be leading class discussion, a class presentation, and time for the students to complete the materials during class. Each class will begin with the names of the planets to help the students remember their names and order. Class Scope and Sequence: Week 1: What is the solar system? Current Plan: Week 2: Mercury (Week of August 21st) Week 3: Venus (Week of August 28th) Week 4: Earth (Week of September 4th) Week 5: Mars (Week of September 11th) Week 6: Jupiter (Week of September 18th) Week 7: Saturn (Week of September 25th) Week 8: Uranus (Week of October 2nd) Week 9: Neptune (Week of October 9th) Additional topics we will discuss after the the planets: Week 10: Rocky Planets - How do they compare and contrast with the Earth? (Week of October 16th) Week 11: Gas Planets - How do they compare and contrast with the Earth? (Week of October 23rd) Week 12: What is the sun? What are stars? (Week of October 30th) Week 13 : What is the Moon? What is an eclipse? (Week of November 6th) Week 14: What is a Rocket? What does an Astronaut do? Who was Neil Armstrong? (Week of November 13th)

Spanish Classes:
I teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced Spanish. Lessons are thematic. They contain vocabulary, incidental grammar, and a communicative component all throughout the lesson. Beginner learners will learn to form sentences in class.
1-on-1 Tutoring Language Classes:
One-on-one Spanish classes are ideal to work at the student’s pace and build confidence. Lessons are designed to meet the student’s needs and strengths.
Classes are 30 minutes.
Education Background:
I have a bachelors degree in Counseling Psychology, a Post-Baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education, followed by a Masters Degree in TESOL from Michigan State University. I have taught students of all ages from toddlers to adults. My classes are characterized by being dynamic with music, reading, and talking.
ESL - EFL English as a Second Language Classes:
I teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced English classes. Lessons can be about books, specific grammar questions / exercises. I also teach advanced conversation classes. These classes start out with a prompt or theme followed by questions to guide the conversation. Learners are welcome to share their ideas, ask questions, and interact with other learners.
Classes are 25 minutes.
