This class includes one fun inter-disciplinary learning activity that integrates inquiry based learning, creative expression, and problem solving processes. Students will help make a reindeer fly! Students will learn to build a hand cranked automaton with moving machinery parts on their own. They will learn about the concepts of machinery, robotics and engineering. Materials & Supplies: Small Box Corrugated Cardboard for Circles 2 Straws 2 Skewers or Wood Chopsticks Scissors Tape & Glue Sharpened Pencil Paper & Markers Notes: For the box frame, the box can be a small shoe box, tissue box, cereal box, or shipping box. The box's width should not be more than the length of the skewers.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will have to use scissors.
