Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 12
Students will have the opportunity for one-on-one help for a 60-minute block. I have eleven years of teaching experience in AP Biology, Biology, General Chemistry, Forensics, and various other biology and chemistry-based electives. Upon enrolling, please send me a message with the topic or information regarding the assignment so I am prepared to work on that concept. I am happy to prepare additional worksheets/ practice tests, etc. for a student if necessary. Topics for a Biology course might include: Ecology- food webs, interspecies relationships Genetics & Evolution- Punnett squares, Pedigree charts, Chi-Square, Hardy Weinberg Energy transfer- Cellular Respiration, Photosynthesis, Macromolecule structure and function Topics for Chemistry course might include: Introduction to Matter Atoms, Elements, Compounds Writing and Understanding Chemical Formulas Naming Compounds Scientific Notation Dimensional Analysis Stoichiometry Our sessions will begin with addressing any specific questions and/ or assignments that the student needs immediate help with. After the student feels comfortable with those topics, we'll devote the remainder of the time to studying topics that support their academic course. While working on topics, I typically use a document camera so students can follow along as if I was in the room writing on a whiteboard with them. All notes are posted on the classroom page after the session for later review. During my sessions, I encourage my students to be very vocal in sharing their questions. They have the control to direct our tutoring sessions and tailor them to their individual needs. ***Please message for additional time slots**

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I am a science teacher who resides in Rochester, NY with my husband, two children, and dog. I have twelve years of experience teaching high school level biology and chemistry and love teaching both topics! I completed my MS degree at Towson University where I discovered my passion for microbiology.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have had the opportunity to travel to over 20 countries across the world. Two of my favorite trips, Madagascar and Costa Rica, were real-world field trips with students to focus on local flora and fauna. In my spare time, I love to row crew and workout with my family.
