In this 6 session course, students will learn about the structure and composition of our planet, movements inside and on the surface, and geologic history.
Class experience
For each week of this course, we will cover a different area of Earth Science/Geology. Week 1 -- this lesson will be all about the structure of the planet, its layers, and the location, behavior and composition of those layers. Week 2 -- in this hour students will learn about plate tectonics; continental drift and the evidence that supports the theory. Week 3 -- This week should prove to be explosive. All about fault lines, the Ring of Fire, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, etc. Week 4 --...
Students will gain an understanding of the structure, composition and movements of the Earth. They will be able to describe the layers of the Earth; compare/contrast rocks and minerals; earth's crust and mantle movements, and their results; and explain some of the main points of the Geologic Time Scale.
