Our program, "Science of Minecraft: Chemistry & Physics," uses the popular video game Minecraft as a virtual laboratory to teach kids about STEM topics through design, crafting, and testing experiments. - Become familiar with chemistry with a focus on atoms, molecules and elements - Understand physics with a focus on potential and kinetic energy, speed, acceleration and gravity - Create Minecraft-based lab work focused on the periodic table and learn about chemical reactions - Learn how Minecraft can be used to build with concepts like physics in mind - Learn how Minecraft can be used to experiment with elements, explore the periodic table and create chemical reactions
Our staff have been teaching for at least 2 years and are experts in Minecraft Education Edition.
We will provide your student with a Minecraft Education Edition User Account. You will need to have a Windows 7, 8 or 10 Mac OS, iPad with iOS10 or higher, or a Chromebook. If you are using an iPad we suggest having a second device for zoom. You will need to download the latest version of Minecraft Education Edition - https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
The students will use Minecraft Education Edition for this program. They will be in a server with the instructor and with the other students in the class. it is a safe environment with just the students that are taking this class.
