Class Experience

Students will improve their critical thinking skills and grow as deep, ethical thinkers as well as staying up-to-date on how science as a discipline is growing.
I taught high school physics for 4 years, and also performed undergraduate research related to laser physics and gravitational waves.
No work is necessary outside of our meeting times, although learners may be interested in perusing the Science News webpage ahead of time.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
During this class, we will reference articles from the Science News for Students webpage. Learners will choose an article from this website to read and discuss together. This site is not one of Outschool's approved resources for learners 13 and under, but is a journal aimed at readers 9-14 years of age, and thus it is expected that this content will be appropriate for learners in this age range.
We will refer to articles posted on the Science News for Students webpage.
