In this class we will research three different kinds of bears; Panda Bears, Polar Bears, Black Bears and the environment they each live in in order to observe, compare and contrast the differences between them. Learners will be encouraged to record their findings through drawing skills and writing the observations we discussed. Slide shows will be shown with videos, pictures and information of the bears and their environment; what it eats, where it lives, etc. Slideshows showing simple ways...
This class is taught in English.
Students will practice their perceptive observation skills through recording and documenting information.
Homework is not necessary unless a student feels they need to continue practicing in their field guides/sketchbooks.
Students choice of writing/drawing utensils on hand; pencils, colored pencils, markers etc. Sketchbook. Pencil sharpener. Eraser.
Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions, answer questions, and contribute their thoughts and ideas to the discussion and share their drawings.
30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Although recourses will be used for content accuracy, no outside accounts are needed for this class. Any information will be relayed by the teacher through discussion, screen share, google slides, and videos.
Slideshow presentations are created by Karrie Knowles using Google Slides and Canva. National Geographic Kids information may be used, educational permission is grated on their website. Resources will be used in share screens.
