Build vocabulary skills
I taught science in some capacity for about 20 years. As the Science Department Head, I supervised the implementation of my county's middle school curriculum, ordered/organized supplies, and led staff trainings in various areas. I taught science grades 6-12 and semesters of Anatomy and Physiology labs at the college level. My content knowledge is really good.
Create vocabulary maps at home--optional after class
I will provide a pdf of the graphic organizer that we will use before the first class (for printing). Access to the same pdf as a Google Doc will also be provided after Day 1 for accessibility. I will encourage students to use specific sites to look up definitions and get an idea for a visual representation.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will look at their maps at the end of the session.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
When students look for the terms, please make sure they stick to the recommended sites and Quizlet.
