Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 10
This ongoing course provides a great foundation for the grade 9/10 science curriculum (bio/chem units).

In the biology section, we will explore ecosystems and food chains. We will talk about ecological niche and tropic levels and energy transfer through the food chain. Next, we will spend time on the biodiversity unit, which is the variety of organisms on earth and the classification levels.

Students will be provided with practice questions and homework activities to facilitate the learning process. Students will have an opportunity to present their work.

In the Chemsitry unit, I will cover the concept of atom, element, and compound. We will practice how to balance chemical reaction and types of reactions.

I will teach using a whiteboard, some short YouTube videos and worksheets. Frontal teaching will be followed by practice periods (worksheet uploaded for each session). Students are encouraged to share their answers and participate in discussions. Middle and high school students interested in science or willing to improve their knowledge are encouraged to sign up for this course.
Course outline:
