Description

Class Experience

I have six years of experience teaching this material in a co-op/classroom setting and with my own children. I truly believe that young children are born scientists and hope to help enkindle that passion for continued scientific learning!
Students will be able to choose from a list of homework options for the week. Options may include simple experiments with household objects, further journaling ideas, or reading related books.
Notebook of choice to be used as a science journal. Please find a journal that plays to their unique needs and/or strengths. Past students have used art journals with blank pages, standard wide or college ruled spiral notebooks, and primary composition journals in which the top of the page is blank and the bottom has handwriting lined space. Each of these type of notebooks are widely available and generally cost $1-5. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please note: use of the same journal used for the level 1 and 2 class is encouraged!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be keeping science notebooks as a record of what the students have learned. I will not require writing if the student is still struggling with that skill, but ask that they do make an entry of some sort even if that just means a drawing that you are able to help them label. Upon registration, please share any special considerations that would make it difficult for your child to fulfill this requirement.
