Description
Class Experience
Students will gain experience with reading critically for meaning and understanding. Literary terms such as personification, metaphor and simile, point of view, and plot and character development will be discussed and identified with in the text.
I hold a Bachelors degree in education and have taught English classes for many years. I have loved reading since I read my first chapter book at age 7. I soon discovered science fiction and fantasy and have been in love with these genres ever since. More than any thing else I believe instilling a love for good literature and reading helps children develop imagination, good character, and a lifelong habit of learning. This book, 'A Wrinkle in Time', was my introduction to science fiction as a child. It continues to be one of my favorite books.
Homework assignments consist of reading sections of the book in order to prepare for discussion and analysis.
