Description
Class Experience
How to make a lemon fizz and foam. Why this reaction happens. What a chemical reaction is. An overview of acid-alkali reactions. Making observations. How to conduct an experiment carefully. Science can be really fun.
no homework is set, although ideas for extension activities will be discussed.
a large lemon, baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate or bocarbonate of soda), a spoon, a fork, a knife to cut the lemon, a bowl, wash-up liquid, teatowel, tray to work on, access to a sink, at least one other citrus fruit.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please help chop the ends on the lemon. Please be near you child during the class.
