Class Experience

Students will learn a new science concept each week, participate in a group activity, and enjoy science experiments.
I am a certified elementary school teacher. I taught science in a live classroom for 5 years and I've been teaching science on Oustchool for 2 years.
I will post the materials in the classroom one week before each class. **If you register after the weekly message is posted, you may not be able to see it in the classroom. I try my best to email the list to new students before their first class, depending on how last minute they register. Materials are usually easy to find household items. I also recommend students bring a notebook or folder with paper so they may record their findings each week! If you are ever missing any of the materials, just let me know! There are always alternatives, or you can simply watch the experiments and still enjoy the class! Week of Feb 5: Density Rainbows Supplies Needed: A tall glass Different "liquids." Here are some examples. You do not need all of these, but I recommend using at least 3 or 4: Honey Maple syrup Corn syrup Dish soap Water Juice Oil Vinegar Rubbing alcohol You may also like to bring food coloring, a spoon, and paper towels.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed based on their participation.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some of the experiments may require help from an adult.
