Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this FLEX class, we will be covering the science topics of materials and states of matter! The first two weeks of the class will focus on objects, materials and their properties. Weeks three and four will focus on the three states of matter: solids, liquids and gasses.

Each week learners will receive two lessons. Each lesson will have a prerecorded video and accompanying worksheets. Each week's second lesson will be a hands-on investigation or experiment; learners will be able to follow along with the video to complete their investigation! Please check the Learner Supply List further down for a full list of supplies needed!

At the end of each class, a challenge or home activity will be set in order to take their learning further. Challenge may be in the form of a science experiment, a scavenger hunt, or an observation!

Each class will also come with a worksheet - some may be completed during the video and some may be set as homework. Worksheets are kept simple so they can be easily replicated by grownups if you cannot or do not wish to print!

Learners are encouraged to share all of their work in the form of pictures and videos into the classroom!

Learning Goals

-To name and identify a range of materials and their properties
-To identify and compare the three states of matter
-To participate in hands-on experiments
