In this interactive 4 week FLEX class, learners will read and interact with one another about their favorite science series. For this FLEX series, we will focus on the brain, the digestive system, and plagues.

This FLEX class will have a lot of interaction, but will not have any live class meetings. This flex class will last 4 weeks. There are interactive games and a project-based final class to reinforce student learning. Science Comics FLEX is designed for students who prefer learning in an asynchronous environment, can't attend a live section, or would like a bonus project-based learning experience. Students will read* a new Science Comic each week for the first 3 weeks. They will then...
Students will enhance their reading comprehension, socialization, and project-building skills.
Students will be expected to interact with classmates and the teacher throughout the week. There will also be a final project during the final week of the class.
Each student must have their own copies of the specified Science Comics books. The books can usually be purchased for $12.99 or less. Many libraries carry the series, as well.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Some books may include advanced topics. This series is suggested for ages 9-13, but feel free to use your own judgment for your child. Please pre-read books if you are unsure if they’re a good fit for your child. Flipgrid and Kahoot are external sources. Students will need to their own free account. Further details will be provided upon enrollment.
