Each week we do something new with science, nature, kitchen science, or art and so much more! Class is very student led and if students have an idea we will usually explore it!

We will use minimal supplies to conduct experiments, create new mixtures (example: oobleck, slime, playdough), and to help us understand other science concepts. I encourage student-led learning. This class has no set topic schedule, but the topics below are a general idea of some of experiments and activities we will start with. These have been some of the most popular topics! Many weeks we decide as a group where our love for science will take us. If a student has an interest, I will search for experiments or activities to help us learn more about it. I LOVE teaching classes with a hands-on component and you will notice that most of my classes have just that! Experiment and activity list: Experimenting with hot chocolate- engineering design: getting that chocolate to melt! Mentos explosion! Crushing cans Why does water rise? Blowing up balloons, but you don't have to do it! Rocky candy- kitchen science DIY marshmallows- kitchen science Layering our liquids Edible playdough The BEST bubble recipe ever! Engineering for an earthquake Edible glass- glass candy kitchen science Glowing ice cubes Ice cream in a jar- How does it work? What's the reaction taking place? Butter in a jar- or a mixer, if your hands get tired of shaking! -How does it work? Invisible ink *please note- if your student joins class after the weekly supplies post- I will send a message and repost in the classroom!

Some classes will require minimal household supplies and materials. They will posted in the classroom several days before class.

Hi! My name is Kristi and I am so happy you ventured over to my science learning lab!
My goal is for students to have fun, maybe get messy, and gain a love for science! My teaching style is interactive and hands-on as I try to bring science to life. My classes work well for the kinesthetic learner.
You will find that most of my classes have a hands-on component to complement the learning experience and my presentations are very visual.
I do my very best to keep prices lower than average as I understand how quickly classes add up for parents. Keeping the prices lower also helps parents as there are material lists for experiments and activities. However, almost every class that I have has a coupon! Please reach out if you need assistance.
When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my daughter outside, gardening, raising chicks, and learning new skills. My goal is to combine some of my hobbies while teaching.
I have been teaching environmental science to students in pre-k through 12th grade for over 12 years. I have taught in various settings including outdoors, in classrooms, and online. I currently run my own business developing and delivering science lessons and custom curriculums to students in school settings, early learning centers, scouts, libraries, and more! I received my B.A.s in Environmental Science and Sociology in 2016 and my M.S. in Resilient and Sustainable Communities in 2019.Reviews
