To learn different science and stem concepts
Please note this is a hands-on experience. The templates will be posted 1 week in advance. Please also note this class we do make slime. I highly recommend getting a slime activator. This can be purchased on amazon or a local store. This makes slime very easy August 14-20 Homemade Lemonade- Lemon Volcanoes- Lemon Invisible Ink Science Homemade Lemonade HOMEMADE LEMONADE RECIPE INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (you can use the bottled juice too) 5 cups of cold water 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 lemons, for garnish Ice Lemonade Volcano Lemons Baking soda Food coloring Dish soap Plate or bowl Fork Lemon Invisible Ink Science Paper Lemon 1/2 Cotton swabs August 21-27 Homemade Fizzy Frozen Chalk- Elephant Toothpaste Science Experiment- Smore Oven 1 Cup of baking soda 1 Cup of water food coloring ( or washable paint or dry kool aid mix) Ice Cube tray or muffin tin Elephant Toothpaste Science You'll need: 1 teaspoon yeast 2 tablespoons warm water 3% hydrogen peroxide food coloring dish soap plastic bottle large dish or tray Smore Oven Zipped Bag Foil Marshmallows graham crackers chocolate August 28 September 3 Ice Cream in a Bag-Leakproof bag-Water Cycle in a bag- Water Cycle in a bag Template provided by the teacher Zip Bag ( Gallen Size) Water Blue Food Coloring Markers Tap Ice Cream in a bag 1/2 cup half & half (cream and milk) ¼ tsp vanilla 1 TBSP sugar 3 cups ice ⅓ cup kosher or rock salt Gallon-size zip bags Sprinkles, chocolate sauce, fruit (optional but really “the best part” ingredients!) In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please note that some experiments will need some parental guidance and projects may get messy.

Please note we will use items baking soda, and vinegar these can be potential hazards parent may need to be close by

I will be using External Resources but no account is needed by the learner or parent

Kahoot- We will play a quick game to recap what we learned
Canva- I will display different pictures of our lesson
YouTube- I may play a video to show a closer-up example of the science experiment.

Please note this is a hands-on class and supplies will be needed. The supplies can be found under class listing and under supply list. Please have supplies ready to use. We will be doing two-three science and stem experiments a week.
